Every year about 50,000 students all over the country join law colleges to seek a career in the legal profession. It is estimated that there are more than 20 lakh lawyers in the country. Delhi/NCR alone is reportedly having more than 60,000 lawyers.
It is in this context that CLAT assumes significance. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT ) is a single paper online exam -- usually held on the second Sunday of May each year – for admission to the National Law Universities, whose number has been steadily increasing in the last few years and presently stands at over twenty. There are more than 2,000 seats on offer through CLAT, with the stipulated quotas for SC/ST/OBC/ physically Handicapped being in place and a transparent merit based seat allotment in operation.
There are obvious advantages in cracking CLAT. First and foremost, the National Law Universities offer value for money in terms of the facilities being made available in their large residential campuses being linked to the fees being required to be paid for the 5 year integrated ( graduation+ LLB ) courses. Many privately owned law colleges also have excellent facilities and equally good campus placement credentials. But the fees charged by them are way ahead of the fees charged by the National Law Universities.
The trends in the last few years have indicated that the number of aspirants for CLAT is going up steadily year after year. In 2018, more than 54,000 aspirants appeared for this exam against just about 2,000 seats on offer. Seen in this light, odds of 1:27 do obviously bring out the fact that it is always going to be a tough fight, especially for the NLUs like those at Bangaluru, Hyderabad etc which were the pioneer institutions established more than two decades ago and have built a well deserved aura of high professionalism in pedagogy and imparting of legal skills. But at the same time, there is little doubt that serious minded aspirants with reasonable proficiency in English language can crack this exam if they prepare for this exam in a systematic manner instead of falling for the temptation of rote coaching elevated to look temptingly easy through glitzy advertising.
This is where Athena Coaching Academy offers you a very distinct option of individually customized coaching which is low key but extremely intensive in content. We do not like to form large batches because nothing dilutes the quality of teaching more than such disregard for individual needs inherent in such industrial scale coaching. We prefer to teach a small band of serious minded aspirants in small tutorial groups.
We will start our 2 month intensive course immediately after Holi in March next year. This will be oriented towards helping the aspirants prepare for the CLAT as also for AILET, the tough exam for National Law University in Dwarka, New Delhi, which has opted to remain out of the CLAT ecosystem. However, at moderate extra cost, we will continue this course till mid- June for all those aspirants who wish to prepare also for the entrance examinations conducted by the law faculty of universities at Allahabad, Lucknow etc.
The fees for the two month course would be Rs.24,000/- and that for the three month course extending up to mid – June would be Rs.32,000/-.
Aspirants who register for these courses before the end of the present calendar year would get substantial rebates in the fees.
